Terms of Use

The agreement.

Using zhooky means agreeing to what is on this page. We have tried to write it the way we would explain it out loud. Last updated 27 September 2026.

What zhooky does

zhooky gives you a URL. Anything that can make an HTTP request can send to it, and we turn what arrives into a push notification on your devices and a stored, inspectable request in your inbox. That is the whole service.

Your account

Opening the app creates an account for you, with no sign-up. You can attach an e-mail address, a Google account or an Apple account later so your hooks follow you between devices. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

A hook key — the 32 characters after /h/ in your hook URL — is a bearer secret. Anyone holding it can post to your hook. Treat it like a password, and rotate it if it leaks; the previous key stops working immediately.

You can delete your account from the app at any time. Deleting it removes your hooks, your devices and the requests they hold.

What you may not do

Do not use zhooky to send unlawful content, to harass anyone, or to relay notifications to people who have not asked for them. Do not attempt to read another account's hooks or requests, and do not use the service in a way that degrades it for others — the rate limits are published, and working around them is not allowed.

We may suspend a hook or an account that breaks this. Where we can, we will tell you why.

Your content stays yours

The requests you send to a hook are yours. We store them so you can read them, and we delete them after 7 days on the free tier — sooner than that once a hook is holding its limit of 1,000 requests, when the oldest goes to make room, and sooner still if the hook's inbox is turned off, which removes a request once its notifications are done. We do not sell them, mine them or train anything on them. What we do with data is set out in full on the privacy page.

Free and paid

The free plan covers 100 notifications a month and 1 hook. Premium removes both limits. Prices are on the pricing page.

If you subscribe in the iOS app, Apple takes the payment and is the seller. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel it in the App Store, at least 24 hours before the period ends; access then runs to the end of the period you have paid for. Cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple, not by us — manage the subscription in your Apple account settings.

If you subscribe on the web, Polar takes the payment as merchant of record and handles invoicing and tax. The same rule applies: cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running to the end of the period you have paid for.

If we change a price, it applies from your next renewal and never retroactively, and we will tell you before it does.

What we do not promise

zhooky is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and to deliver every notification, but we cannot promise that a push always arrives, that a provider never has an outage, or that the service is never interrupted. Do not use zhooky as the only alarm for something where a missed notification causes real harm — medical, safety-critical or life-critical uses are not what it is built for.

To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Changes and endings

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will say so rather than quietly swapping the page, and the date at the top always tells you when it last moved.

You can stop using zhooky whenever you like. We may end an account that breaks the rules above, or close the service with reasonable notice and a refund of anything paid for time you did not get.
